The United States held the Corona 19 summit on the 12th local time and urged the international community to cooperate to combat the global epidemic that has not yet ended.

It was co-hosted by the United States, Germany, Belize, Indonesia, and Senegal, and was attended by 15 countries including Korea, Japan, Canada, India, Spain and New Zealand, as well as international organizations such as the European Commission and the World Health Organization.

President Biden said, “The pandemic is not over. There is still a lot of work to be done.”

He added that he plans to donate an additional $200 million to the World Bank’s Global Health Fund to prepare for future pandemics, bringing the total to $450 million.

The State Department added that the United States has provided 540 million doses of vaccine to more than 110 countries worldwide since the pandemic.

President Yoon Seok-yeol made his debut on the international multilateral stage after taking office by emphasizing Korea’s contribution through a video speech.

In his speech, President Yoon said, “We will provide sufficient supply and support for safe and rapid inoculation to countries that urgently need the vaccine.” will,” he said.
