Victor Lobry appeared at a press conference this afternoon. The opportunity to answer questions from journalists. Here is the full transcript of the Greens midfielder’s remarks.

A course to catch up

Victor Lobry : “The internship went well, we were able to work well. We were able to get together. Personally, I hadn’t done the internship this summer because I arrived later. So it’s good to meet up with teammates, staff and everything to work well.

We did a lot of football, a lot of physics, to still continue to work. Then also small pleasures, to create cohesion. We shot each other (laughs). We did a little paintball. Then we even met in the evening, all that. It always takes extra time to chat, to get to know each other better, that’s always good.

Yes well in the continuity of what has been happening for a few weeks. The group has stabilized, so inevitably affinities are created. And yeah, internships like that… Unless there’s a fight (laughs)… it’s always going well in general.

My injury? It’s good here we go again. It’s not easy to stay a little apart, especially since I’m not used to it. It’s good that’s it, it’s behind me, so everything is fine.

It allows you to work a little more when there is no match this weekend. Obviously we can put a little more intensity in training or do extra work so it’s good for me too, it allowed me to catch up a little bit this little delay “

Competition is good

“I think there is a lot of complementarity. There are a lot of different profiles. Football now is played a lot in midfield. Teams that have a big midfield without necessarily come out better. I think that’s what we have to manage to put in place, find links between us to be more efficient and continue to move forward.

Competition is what drives you forward. Whether it’s in a team sport or in an individual sport, it’s always the performance of the other that drives us forward. So that’s good, there is competition but there is also complementarity. It’s good to have different profiles but also profiles that look alike, to come together.”

Looking forward to discovering the Cauldron

“Yes, there is a certain rush to find or discover Geoffroy-Guichard. For my part, I’ve never seen him. It’s sure that even empty it’s a bit impressive. So full… Frankly, I can’t wait to be at 3 p.m. on Saturday to find out.

Inevitably when we sign here, we look at when the supporters will come back, so we’ve been thinking about it for a while. We would have liked to be a little better ranked too, to welcome them, but hey, that’s how it is. Now it’s up to us to continue to progress and move forward, and then it can only be a support.

I don’t know if it’s a pressure or an additional advantage for us. I think it can only push us, it can’t pull us down. It’s a good thing for us.”

Be more efficient!

“We have to correct our efficiency, be a little more efficient, not necessarily only in terms of statistics. In our game, it’s about being more efficient in everything we do. Hurting the opponent a little more on our possession game. It’s to continue to improve the momentum we’re in and then we’ll be fine.

I think if we take our first league game and then we take the following ones one after the other we see a progression. Not linear, but still there is progression every time I think. It’s up to us to turn things around so that it falls for us.

The World Cup in Qatar? I think it’s a little late to get up now. Things are done. I think that if we have an exceptional strike and it cancels it would be stupid. I think it’s too late. Now who can refuse to go and play a CDM? I don’t think we’re going to find many. Committed, not committed, no one is perfect so I think now that it’s done we have to go.

Dreyer or Green? They are good keepers. Afterwards, they have slightly different profiles. One will have more experience than the other. But I will already take care of myself before judging others (laughs). There is competition and that’s good, it makes everyone progress.

Grenoble a Derby? It’s not a new derby between us anyway.”
