In 2020, e-commerce broke a record with 68% growth in sales. Black Friday 2021 is approaching and the estimate is also above double-digit success. This transition to online shopping was inevitable around the world in the face of the pandemic, but the question is, how did the people who ordered these hundreds of thousands of products protect themselves from it? coronavirus?

The answer involves a series of questions, such as the health protocols adopted by industry and retail, but I would like to touch on a point in particular, the displacement of these and many other workers who have not ceased their professional activities outside the home. After all, the “People’s logistics” is (or should be) one of the basic concerns of any company.

In a survey commissioned by the Fretadão platform from Global Trevo Consulting, we identified that, of the thousand people interviewed in nine states of the country, 80% indicated that the mobility has a strong impact on your Physical Health, 79% cite reflections of psychological order and 77% indicate a relationship with the productivity.

We see that there is a growing movement of companies willing to support employees in a better work environment, regardless of the discussion about where they are currently (remote, hybrid or face-to-face). In the survey, 52% of the companies interviewed already invest more than 500 reais per employee in shares to promote the health of metals, for example.

The big question is the union of two points: if mobility is seen as a fundamental element for employees, does mobility wellness program Is it enough to make them happier and more productive people? How much mobility do companies really contemplate?

There are those who say that “each case is different”, but our experience has shown that it offers a coherent mobility policy it’s a pretty assertive path. In this scenario, charters have evolved as a support for physical and mental health. With a single modal shift and without the risk of overcrowding, accidents on the road are avoided and minimized stress and fatigue long periods in transit.

Technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning have made the equation between cost, transportation time and quality of life increasingly viable for companies. And this was one of the lessons that the logistics sector drove to the rest of the market: a good part of the large retailers and e-commerces opted for chartering for their employees. Thus, the “logistics of the people” was as guaranteed as the delivery of the products that you received at home during the pandemic.

What remains to be seen is whether transportation, which represents one of the main financial investments within a company, will be reviewed from the perspective of employee well-being. This is because current data confirms what we feel on a daily basis: the experience of traveling to work makes a big difference in the energy and mood that we will have during work hours. This is another quality of life issue that will be on the radar of pospandemic.
