After the resounding victory at the start of the friendly (12-1 against Mondorf), 1. FC Köln has passed its first small endurance test. The Rhinelanders mastered this effortlessly on Friday. Head coach Steffen Baumgart’s team won 4-0 (2-0) against the Austrian first division club SC Austria Lustenau.
Two goals were scored in each half. In round one it was right-back Kingsley Ehizibue who drew attention to himself with two great assists. Twice he crossed from the right into the penalty area, twice he found a buyer. First Florian Dietz met, then Florian Kainz.
The goals came in the second round after a bigger substitution was made in the 61st minute. The two new strike partners Anthony Modeste (template: Lemperle) and Tim Lemperle (Maina) increased the score to 4:0. A result that is okay. Cologne delivered a good, concentrated performance.
As for the formation, Cologne played in the usual 4-1-3-2 system.
