A 10-year-old girl from Wisconsin is purposely brought to the death of a six-month-old baby who died of multiple skull fractures in the last week.

She appeared in court on Monday, sobbing into her mother's arms. She did not complain against the charges against her. She is in prison instead of a cash loan of over $ 50,000.

In court, the prosecutor's office described the baby's death as a result of a panic that turned into violence.

Wade Newell, district attorney for the Chippewa district, told the court that the girl accidentally dropped the baby, who had hit his head on a stool and started to cry.

"She panicked and did not know what to do and did not want to get into trouble," Newell said, "and then she stomped on the head of the 6-month-old child."

A statement from the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office confirms that the infant, who was also not named, died on Thursday from injuries originally inflicted on October 30.
