After positive impressions at the Olympic football tournament and the departure of André Silva (25), it should actually be Ragnar Ache’s year at Eintracht Frankfurt. The 23-year-old saw the chance for a breakthrough in the Bundesliga – after a quarter of the season, however, he can only look back on 23 minutes of action. He might have had the chance of a lot more playing time in the summer.
As the “Bild” reports, four clubs from the 2nd Bundesliga were interested in a loan from the 1.83-meter-tall attacker in the past transfer period. In addition to relegated Werder Bremen, three other northern clubs, Hamburger SV, Holstein Kiel and Hannover 96, also asked the Europa League participants. Ache, however, have never flirted with a change and canceled before an official offer was received.

Then the euphoria quickly gave way to disillusionment. First came with Sam Lammers (24) on Deadline Day another center forward with a similar style of play from Atalanta Bergamo, in addition, coach Oliver Glasner in the meantime relied on the almost eliminated Gonçalo Paciência (27) as a substitute – and nominated the Portuguese in contrast to Ache for the Europa League squad.
For Ache, the question is likely to arise again in winter whether a loan for more playing time makes sense. The report does not reveal whether the clubs interested in the summer will continue to be interested, but it can be doubted in view of the attackers who were instead committed. Werder strengthened themselves with Marvin Ducksch (27) from Hannover 96, who in turn guided Lukas Hinterseer (30) from South Korea back to Germany. Newcomer Robert Glatzel (27) storms at Hamburger SV and Kiel secured Fiete Arp (21) on loan from FC Bayern.
