240 blood donors from Biterrois and Hérault gathered in town

After two years of interruption due to the Covid, the gathering of federated blood donors, organized by the departmental union, in partnership with the Montady Blood Donor Association has just taken place.

Coming from Agde, Bédarieux, Béziers, Cazouls-lès-Béziers, Cers, Florensac, Lignan-sur-Orb, Mèze, Nissan-lez-Ensérune, Olonzac, Puisserguier, Villeneuve-lès-Béziers and Montady, the volunteers met at the Claude-Nougaro room to take part in two 9 and 6 km hiking trails, in the steep streets of the old village, near its 12th century tower offering a beautiful panorama over its dry pond, passing through the estate of Grande Canague and its vineyards. Nearly 50 of them were able to visit the old village in the company of Christian Galibert, president of Lou Redondel. Some were able to see the collection of old objects from Midi-Lirou.

Serge Fresquet, president of the Association of blood donors of Montady and Alain Thellier, departmental president, rewarded three Montadynois volunteers with the Knight’s Cross of Blood Merit (promotion of 2021): Eliette Carcenac, Pierre Martinez and Jacques Sévilla.

A distinction granted by the federation to reward services rendered to the cause of blood transfusion. Then, everyone met with friends to taste the paella and dance to the rhythms proposed by DJ Régis in a friendly atmosphere.
