(Mk 12, 38-44)
In his teaching, Jesus said: "Beware of the scribes, who are anxious to wander in ceremonial garments and who like greetings in the public squares, the seats of honor in the synagogues, and the places of honor in the dinners. They devour the property of widows and, for appearance, they pray long: they will be all the more severely judged. " Jesus sat in the Temple in front of the treasure room, and watched as the crowd put money into it. Many rich people put in big sums. A poor widow came forward and put two small coins. Jesus called his disciples and declared to them: "Amen, I say to you, this poor widow has put in the treasury more than all the others. Because all, they took over their superfluous, but she, she took on her indigence: she put all she had, all she had to live. "
