Cologne | 39 Cologne residents received confirmation of a positive coronavirus test on Monday, February 22nd. This is reported by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) as well as four people who died with or from the virus. The 7-day incidence for Cologne in the period February 16-22 is 64.3 and has thus fallen slightly. The RKI reported 3,883 new infections across Germany yesterday, Monday.
At 4:46 p.m. on Monday yesterday, the city of Cologne published its corona numbers. 192 people were treated with coronavirus disease in Cologne clinics, 62 of them in intensive care units. When it comes to the number of clinics, the city does not differentiate between people who have their primary residence in Cologne.
A total of 669 virus mutations have been detected in Cologne since December 20, 2020, including the British mutant in 513 cases and the South African virus variant in 156 cases.
RKI reports 3883 new corona infections – incidence at 60.5
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) provisionally reported 3,883 new corona infections early Tuesday morning. That was 0.7 percent or 27 cases more than on Tuesday morning a week ago, when 3,856 new infections were officially published within one day. According to the RKI, the incidence fell from 61.0 yesterday to 60.5 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants within the last seven days.
Overall, according to the preliminary figures, the institute is currently assuming around 118,800 active corona cases with evidence, which is around 17,000 fewer than a week ago. In addition, the RKI now reported 415 deaths within 24 hours in connection with the virus. There were 2,714 deaths in the last seven days, corresponding to an average of 388 deaths per day.
On the previous day, this value was an average of 404 corona deaths within the last seven days. As these are preliminary figures, they could be corrected later.

The Historical Archives collapsed twelve years ago
Cologne | On March 3, 2009, the historical archive and other buildings on Severinstrasse not far from Waidmarkt collapsed into the excavation pit of the north-south railway in front of it.
