6.1 million ENOC savings through energy management initiatives

ENOC Group, the official integrated energy partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, has announced savings of 6.1 million dirhams resulting from its energy and resource management projects in 2021; Thus, it recorded cumulative savings of 108 million dirhams through innovative measures to enhance energy efficiency across all its divisions over the past five years.

The announcement came on the sidelines of the group’s participation in the 23rd edition of the “WETEX and Dubai Solar Show” organized by the Dubai Water and Electricity Authority at the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

In light of ENOC Group’s continuous efforts to achieve sustainable value and leadership for all its partners, this achievement is a confirmation of the tangible progress made by the Group in implementing energy and resource management strategies across its operations by adopting best sustainability practices. The energy and resource management projects implemented by the group include: installing solar panels to generate electric power in its retail outlets, service stations and various operational centers, in addition to modernizing lighting systems in its facilities by installing LED lighting technology, and harnessing innovative sustainable solutions such as Steam cooling and many more.

It is noteworthy that ENOC’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai is in line with its slogan of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, with a strong focus on sustainability. The group built its innovative pavilion on the site of the event under the slogan “Inspiration from Energy” according to the highest standards of sustainability and design set by the Expo 2020 Dubai team, integrating the concepts of heritage within the construction plan and focusing on the use of local and recyclable materials.

ENOC built the futuristic service station with its innovative design at the Expo 2020 Dubai site to meet the logistical needs of the Expo 2020 fleet, and is the first station of its kind in the world to harness renewable energy capabilities, ushering in a new era for the future of fuel. The station is inspired by the design of the Ghaf tree, which is a national symbol of the United Arab Emirates, known for its long life, deep-rooted roots and its ability to withstand harsh weather conditions. In addition, the station includes many of the unprecedented sustainability benefits at the level of service stations in the world.
