Due to a bomb disposal houses in the heart of Frankfurt must be evacuated. The 250-kilo bomb is to be made harmless on Sunday.
Because of the defusing or blowing up of a 250 kilogram heavy bomb from the Second World War on this Sunday morning about 600 people must leave their houses in Frankfurt am Main temporarily. The ordnance clearance service wants to render harmless the explosive device discovered in the Main.
One option is to blow up the 250 kilogram WWII bomb underwater, as the Regional Council of Darmstadt said. Whether the American bomb is blown up or whether one removes the detonator after a salvage, will be decided only on Sunday.
