64,958 Covid-19 Cases in Indonesia, Beware of Positive Cases Not Yet Detected Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The positive case of Covid-19 in Indonesia has continued to grow since the government announced it on March 2, 2020.

Based on data compiled until Monday (7/7/2020) at 12.00, an additional 1,209 new cases of Covid-19 were positive.

Confirmation of this positive case is done by two examination methods, namely the test polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in a manner real time and molecular rapid test methods.

Thus, the total number of positive cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia is 64,958 cases.

“We have positive Covid-19 confirmations of 1,209 people, so the accumulation is 64,958 people,” said Government Spokesperson for Covid-19 Handling Achmad Yurianto, at a press conference at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Monday afternoon.

In these data, the number of patients who were declared cured of Covid-19 after two examinations also increased.

There were an additional 814 people, bringing the total number of patients recovered from Covid-19 to 29,919.

Then, there were still 70 patients who died due to Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours.

“So that (total) became 3,241 people,” said Yurianto.

Examination of Specimens and ODP and PDP

The government also examined 928,238 specimens. Within a day, the government examined 12,756 specimens.

“We conducted an examination of 12,756 specimens so that a total of 928,238 specimens had been examined,” Yurianto said.

Meanwhile, Yurianto said, there were 38,748 people in monitoring status (ODP) and 13,360 patients under surveillance (PDP).

In addition, there are 455 districts / cities affected by Covid-19 in 34 provinces.

Covid-19 cases have not been detected

Based on the data submitted, Yurianto acknowledged the government had not been able to fully identify patients infected with Covid-19 in Indonesia.

Currently, according to Yuri, there are still people who are positive that Covid-19 is in the community.

“We are fully aware that we cannot yet find all of them. It is possible that there are still positive cases that have not been identified and are in our midst,” said Yuri.

Yurianto asked the public to continue implementing health protocols to cut the transmission of the corona virus.

Implement disciplined health protocols such as keeping a distance, using masks, and diligently washing hands using soap and running water for at least 20 seconds.

“If not (health protocols are applied) it will be very likely to be infected and then it will add to positive cases,” he concluded.
