A 79-year-old grandfather lost his life on Thursday after being stabbed to death while trying to defend himself at his home in North Carolina.
This was reported by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, who stated that it was the victim’s wife who called 911, when she reported that her husband was being stabbed in his garden.
Regrettably, When officers arrived at the address located on Highway 701 South, the 79-year-old man identified as Keith L. Slocum had already been pronounced dead..
Police also reported that the suspect, who was identified as Isaac James Martin, 25, had escaped from the scene.
Later, the police managed to locate the car of Martin, who is originally from Smithfield, in Johnston County.
After stopping the car in which Isaac was traveling, he tried to flee, but was arrested at his home in Wellons Street.
Officers reported that the suspect had multiple gunshot wounds, for which he was transferred to a hospital, although they said that none of these were made by the officers.
Authorities could not find any relationship between James Martin and the 79-year-old grandpa who was stabbed to death in his North Carolina home.
