The investigation carried out by the RA Investigative Committee revealed the essential circumstances of the sexual exploitation of a 24-year-old resident of Yerevan by deception, violence and the threat thereof.
In 2023 On January 19, in the main department of the RA Investigative Committee, during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 of Article 188 (Human Trafficking or Exploitation) of the RA Criminal Code, factual information was obtained that the 45-year-old resident of Yerevan, G. .A., having learned about the 24-year-old woman’s desire to engage in prostitution, offered her to engage in prostitution under his supervision, promising to provide clients, to which the latter agreed.
Thus, in 2021 Since November, a 45-year-old resident of Yerevan sexually exploited a 24-year-old woman on a daily basis.
With the intention of keeping the latter in that condition, GA started to borrow clothes, food and other things from various people on behalf of the 24-year-old woman and with her consent, and the latter was obliged to repay the debts. Exaggerating the mentioned debts, GA demanded from the 24-year-old woman to give him the money she earned on a daily basis, returning to the young woman only enough money to cover her vital needs.
Over time, the 24-year-old woman, realizing that she was being sexually exploited, told the 45-year-old woman that she no longer wanted to engage in prostitution, in connection with which she was beaten by the latter, and threats of violence were regularly made against her.
In 2022 from November 22 to 2023 On March 1, under the compulsion to pay the so-called “debt” owed to a 49-year-old woman in Yerevan, the 24-year-old woman was forced to engage in prostitution every day on the street of Artsakh, and transferred the earned money, an average of 50,000 AMD per day, to the 45-year-old woman.
On the basis of the obtained factual data, a criminal prosecution was initiated against GA under Article 188, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
He was charged and, as a measure of restraint, detention was chosen against him.
The investigation is ongoing.
