Paulo Jorge Pereira released, this Monday, the list of 20 pre-listed by the National Handball Team for the Olympic Games. The athletes will meet in Nazaré for seven training sessions, one game against Brazil (2 July), and then reach the 15 finals, which will face Spain (8 and 10 July) before heading to Tokyo.
Remember that, in the group stage of the Olympic tournament, Portugal will face Egypt (24 July), Bahrain (26), Sweden (28), Denmark (30) and Japan (1 August).
“We called 20 athletes, 15 of which will be selected to travel to Tokyo on July 17th. There are some criteria for this selection and athletes are already aware of them. We will start working today, with seven training sessions scheduled until the game, at this time the physical factors are the most important and naturally, tactical issues will not be a priority», justified the national coach.
