A car turns around on the Saint-Jacques bridge in Montluçon (Allier)

More fear than harm. A car overturned on Monday, November 22 on the Saint-Jacques bridge around 8:40 p.m. The Volkswagen Golf came from the right bank and was heading towards the left bank of the Cher (towards the Carrefour Saint-Jacques shopping center) when the driver lost control, ending up returning to the curb opposite to his lane of travel, the safe near the bridge security gates.

Despite this impressive posture, the two occupants were able to extricate themselves from the car before the arrival of help. Slightly injured, their condition did not require transport to hospital.

Two lanes closed for the duration of the operation

Two police patrols and two fire engines with six men were mobilized to secure the scene. Traffic on the lane from the Carrefour Saint-Jacques shopping center to the right bank and on the nearest reverse lane has been closed. At around 9 p.m., around 20 minutes after the accident, a tow truck intervened to put the car back on its four wheels and free it from the road.

The occupants of the vehicle have not, at this stage, given any information on the circumstances of the accident, which therefore remain unknown.
