A bus sank Sunday in a ravine in northern Peru, killing at least 15 people and injuring 25 people, the second such fatal accident over the weekend, the police said.
"We have 15 people dead during the fall of a bus in a ravine, located on the road between Sihuas and Quiches," told AFP police officer Edgar Cochachi Huaraz in the region of Ancash .
More than 2,700 dead in 2017
The vehicle of the Rosario transport company was traveling towards Lima when it fell about 50 meters. Among the victims are three children aged 6.8 and 10, according to the press.
On Saturday, at least 9 people died and 40 were injured when a bus collapsed in a ravine in northeastern Peru. Deadly road accidents are commonplace in Peru, killing more than 2,700 people in 2017, police said.
