CIG delegates at Banco Santander denounce that the entity is putting “pressure” on workers to join the Employment Regulation File ongoing, which is in the voluntary membership phase. They say the bank is conducting interviews with some employees. For this reason they gather in front of the office located in the Small Canton.
They consider that “voluntariness” is not being respected. They add that the bank yesterday opened a negotiating table for a new ERE in one of the subsidiary companies, Santander Operations, which would close a center based in Orillamar that has 41 workers.

According to the CIG, the ERE affects 13% of the employees in Galicia. The union considers that there could be a “significant loss” of employment in the province of A Coruña, where, it points out, 64 offices are expected to close. It indicates that the execution period of the ERE ends on December 31.
