Around noon yesterday, the Prosecutor’s Office and members of the Diviac raided a property linked to Johan Ramírez Chávarry, brother of the current magistrate of the National Elections Jury (ETC.), Willy Ramírez Chávarry, in order to prevent documents and technological equipment from being destroyed.

The prosecutor Reynaldo Abia investigates the complaint (with audios in hand) made by the former mayor of Lima Jorge Muñoz about an alleged collection of quotas, through third parties, to reverse the vacancy process followed against him before the highest electoral body.

Around noon yesterday, the Prosecutor’s Office and members of the Diviac raided a property linked to Johan Ramírez Chávarry, brother of the current magistrate of the National Elections Jury (JNE), Willy Ramírez Chávarry, in order to prevent documents and technological equipment from being destroyed. .

By the time they entered the Ramírez building, located in Magdalena, the authorities had already detained in San Isidro —during the early morning, in a procedure that began around 5:00 am— Roger Chapiama Díaz, a server from the Human Resources area of the MLM.

In an operation, the Prosecutor's Office and members of the Police (Diviac) arrested Roger Chapiama Díaz, an official of the Municipality of Lima and the protagonist of one of the audios broadcast by Jorge Muñoz to report bribes to the National Elections Jury (JNE). ) in exchange for no vacancy. Chapiama, investigated for alleged influence peddling and protagonist of one of the broadcast audios, must now remain in preliminary detention for seven days.

“The investigated would have sought to contact the mayor and transmit the request for money that had been made for S / 170,000, in exchange for reversing the vacancy decision (according to Chapiama Díaz, the citizen Johan Ramírez (brother of the JNE member), would be involved in the request for money)”, is indicated in the judicial resolution to which he agreed Peru21.

“It is a disproportionate decision by the Prosecutor’s Office, there are no elements of conviction. We are going to appeal, ”said Chapiama’s lawyer, Rodrigo Portillo, yesterday as he left.

In the resolution, it is noted, however, that Chapiama does not have house arrest and that there is “serious suspicion”, a “high probability that the imputed crime has been committed.”

“What the JNE should do is open up all the information. Who does not owe it does not fear it. Unfortunately, here there is a situation of a person involved within the JNE”, Muñoz insisted yesterday.
