Dramatic road accident, this Wednesday, May 31. Around 5 p.m., a truck and a car collided on the departmental road D18, between Auneau and Chartres.
According to the first elements of the gendarmes, the driver of the heavy goods vehicle lost control and hit the vehicle which was traveling in front.
The captain of the Lucé company, Sébastien Gouin, present on the spot, indicated the origin of the frontal impact: “The driver explained to us that he had lost control of his truck and that he had lain down on the pavement. The 25-year-old truck driver received minor injuries.
12-year-old girl airlifted
Hit by the truck, the driver of the Opel vehicle, aged 39, was killed. She was domiciled in the canton of Auneau. Her 12-year-old daughter, who was in the front of the vehicle, was airlifted by the helismur team to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital (Val-de-Marne). Firefighters from Chartres, Ablis, Auneau and Sainville had to extricate these two victims. The teenager suffers from a traumatic brain injury.
According to the gendarmerie officer, the blood alcohol and narcotics tests of the driver proved negative.
Caution in the sector, the D18 is currently blocked to road users. The Depann 2000 company had to extract nearly 25 tons of pallets by hand, then use two cranes to lift the damaged truck. And the pavement can then be cleaned. These operations should last several hours.
