A family pilgrimage scheduled for Sunday May 15 in Chartres

The Church of France is celebrating the canonization of Charles de Foucauld, this Sunday, May 15, in Rome.

Charles de Foucauld, a former soldier who became a priest, was born on September 15, 1858 in Strasbourg and died on December 1, 1916 in Tamanrasset (Algeria). He was beatified on November 13, 2005. His canonization will therefore take place this Sunday.

The Lepoivre family, in Chartres, will make the pilgrimage to Lourdes for the 8th time

On this occasion, the diocese of Chartres organizes a great pilgrimage of families in the footsteps of the future saint. Young and old, young or old, can participate.
Several possibilities are offered.

By bike from Épernon (28 km); on foot with the North road from Jouy (12 km) or Saint-Prest (4 km) or with the South road from Thivars (14 km) or Le Coudray (5 km).


Without walking or pedaling, meet at 10 a.m. at the Visitation, avenue d’Aligre in Chartres, for a spiritual time.

At noon, picnic, pulled from the bag. At 2 p.m., procession of all the pilgrims to the cathedral. At 3 p.m., Mass celebrated by Mgr Christory, Bishop of Chartres.
