Around 4:20 pm on the 27th, a man broke into a cleaning shop in Kamata, Ota Ward, threatened a woman in her 70s with a knife, saying, “Give me money,” and climbed over the counter and cashed from the cash register. He stole 50,000 yen and ran away.
The store was open and no employees were injured.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the man was in his 40s to 50s, about 1.60 to 1.70 meters tall, and was wearing a gray jacket and black pants.
The man is believed to have escaped on a bicycle, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating his whereabouts as a robbery.
The site is about 500 meters northeast of JR Kamata Station, in an area where houses and restaurants gather.
