A resident who was attacked by a security guard working in an apartment complex in Nowon-gu, Seoul, was arrested by the police.
The Seoul Nowon Police Department announced on the 22nd that it is investigating a man in his 60s who is accused of special assault.
Mr. A is accused of swinging a wooden stick after calling a security guard to his house while drunk at around 6 am on the 20th. When the security guard was surprised and ran away, Mr. A followed the running guard to the elevator and swung the club. The security guard was struck in the back of the head and shoulder and injured anteriorly for three weeks.
According to a police investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A assaulted another security guard twice in 2017, and in 2019, he beat the security guard who was attacked this time. However, in the previous assault, punishment was avoided in the favor of a security guard. Simple assault charges are anti-governmental infidelity in which the victim cannot punish the perpetrator if they do not want to.
A police official said, “We are investigating whether there is any additional damage to the security guards and residents working in the apartment complex,” and “We are also considering a preliminary arrest warrant for the suspect.”
