KAREBA-TORAJA.COM, PAPUA — In approximately one month (12 April-11 May 2022), three civilians from Toraja were shot dead by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Puncak Regency, Papua Province.
Most recently, on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, a truck driver named Nober Palintin, 31 years old, from Sa’dan Pebulian, Sa’dan District, North Toraja Regency, was shot and killed while picking up sand from the river.

Obet was declared missing after local residents heard gunshots coming from the direction of the Ilame River in Wako Village, Gome District, Puncak Regency, Papua, while trying to retrieve sand.

On the afternoon of Thursday, May 12, 2022, Obet was found dead with a gunshot wound to the back. Local residents then evacuated Obet’s body to the Ilaga Health Center.
Nober Palintin’s body is currently buried at the family home in Ilaga. It is not yet known whether Nober’s body will be brought back to Toraja or not.
