The duet formed by the musician and producer Miquel Brunet and the singer-songwriter formenterenca Maria Josep Cardona releases album, Open your wings. It is the second publication of this group, named Imaràntia, since its foundation in 2013 and represents a return to the more rock roots of the composer from Formentera, with more guitars and drums, added to the keyboards and piano of the Bunyola musician, who in addition to playing bass and guitar , has also been in charge of the arrangements and sound production.
The language of Maria J. Cardona is characterized by her sincerity when expressing herself, in a style that could well be called “sense filtres.” A poetry that emanates from the proximity of the people of his island, but with a clear voice that appeals to the conscience in the current situation, not without concerns.
On the album they collaborate Eduard Riera, on violins, and Pep Lluís Garcia, on drums. Some titles of Open your wings son Waking up, Aren’t you tired ?, A better life or Courage.
Brunet and Cardona met thanks to Aires Formenterencs, the minor Pitiüsa group dedicated to praising the customs of the island, its places, its ancient poems, and in which she was active. After a year of meetings in Mallorca, slowly but surely, the duo debuted with an album called Imarantia, with which Cardona opted for a more intimate side, away from the facet for which she was known at the helm of 4 of Cups, your other project.
