Funded by the firm Amplifier Game Invest, a subsidiary of the Swedish giant Embracer Group, the new Montreal studio will be led by Theodor Diea and Nathan Ross Powell, two former Ubisoft alumni.

Goose Byte will be working on its own intellectual properties, which are expected to launch on PCs and consoles. As a result, the new team says its objective is to democratize different genres of existing games to make them accessible to wider audiences, by innovating among other things in the user experience, networking and social elements.

“In order to mobilize a strong video game development team in a hub like Montreal, you need amazing people who can rally creators, build engaging games and run a successful business. We are delighted with the creation of this studio and to see it entrusted to Theo and Nathan, ”commented Per-Arne Lundberg, CEO of Amplifier Game Invest.

When it is launched, the company will create seven jobs. About fifteen other craftsmen are expected to join the team over the next 18 months.
