A piano-cello duo on August 12 in Ver-sur-Mer

On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), Ver-sur-Mer (Calvados) is hosting a piano-cello recital, Wednesday August 12, 2020.

Katrin Reifenrath (piano) and Bertrand Desjardins (cello) will perform works by Beethoven, but also two sonatas by Hummel and Haydn.  A beautiful musical moment in perspective!

For this concert, organized by the ADTLB and the APAV (Association of Owners and Friends of Ver-sur-Mer), Katrin Reifenrath and Bertrand Desjardins have chosen to perform works by Beethoven and his Austrian contemporaries.

The two artists

Bertrand Desjardins is from Caen where he made his first musical studies at the Conservatoire National de Région in the class of Sylvie Bordenave-Basset, obtaining a prize of Excellence, as well as a gold medal for chamber music.

Left to continue his studies at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique in Geneva in the class of François Guye, in June 2000 he obtained a First Prize for Virtuosity as well as a Special “Denis de Marignac” Prize for the best cello Prize.

Katrin Reifenrath, she is from Bessin. After obtaining her gold medals in piano, musical training, chamber music, analysis and writing as well as her prize for excellence in piano at the Conservatoire National de Région de Caen, she entered the class of Daniel Blumenthal at the Conservatoire Royal de Brussels and won a “Higher Master’s Diploma” in piano with distinction in 2000. At the same time, she continued her writing studies at the CNSM in Paris, where she was awarded a harmony prize. She holds the Sacem Prize and the Mathilde Fortuny Prize as well as the State Piano Diploma.
