A plane with six people on board crashed in the Valles del Tuy

Six people, including a sports leader, died this Wednesday afternoon when the Lear Jet-type plane in which they were traveling crashed to the ground in Valles del Tuy, Miranda state, reported the Vice Minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, Carlos Perez Ampueda.

“Unfortunately, six people died after the incident of aircraft YV3304 in Charallave bound for Puerto Cabello,” the deputy minister said in a message on his Twitter account.

The official explained that the deceased are the crew members Guillermo Vargas and Milton Quigua, and four passengers identified as Aldo Camacho, Juan Barajas, Ronald Camacho and Christian Toni, the latter president of the Estudiantes de Mérida national soccer team.

Toni’s death was confirmed by the Venezuelan Football Federation.

“With deep pain and consternation, we received the news of the death of Christian Toni, president of Estudiantes de Mérida. Venezuelan soccer is in mourning for the untimely departure of an excellent human being, tireless worker and great friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. God welcome him in his bosom », expressed the FVF in Twitter.

Pérez Ampueda assured that members of Civil Protection and firefighters carried out rescue and extinguishing tasks for the fire generated by the precipitation of the aircraft.

He also assured that “investigations continue to determine the causes of the incident.”
