A spokesman for the Qatari opposition, Khaled Al-Hill, has sued the BBC for failing to honor its contracts with subscribers. The UAE, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Egypt issued statements praising the steps being taken by Saudi Arabia to combat piracy. “BN Sport did not protect the rights of the participants and broadcast more than half of the World Cup for free, while the other half was broadcast on illegal channels,” he said in a tweet through his Twitter account. “NBN Sport did not stick to the minimum audience reach in its contract with FIFA,” he said. “It could have developed a complex encryption system to protect subscriber rights.
