Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer for King Richard: a winning family, which will premiere in Argentina on November 25.
Synopsis: Based on the true story that will inspire the world, King Richard: a winning familyfrom Warner Bros. Pictures follows the journey of Richard Williams, an unflappable father who helped raise two of the most extraordinarily gifted athletes of all time, who will end up changing the sport of tennis forever. Two-time Oscar nominee Will Smith plays Richard, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green.
Driven by a clear vision of their future and using unconventional methods, Richard has a plan that will take Venus and Serena Williams from the streets of Compton, California to the world stage as legendary icons. The film shows the power of family, perseverance and unshakable faith as a means to achieve the impossible and impact the world.
Aunjanue Ellis plays the girls’ mother, Oracene “Brandi” Williams; Saniyaa Sidney plays Venus Williams; and Demi Singleton to Serena Williams, with Tony Goldwyn as coach Paul Cohen and Jon Bernthal as coach Rick Macci. The cast also includes Andy Bean, Kevin Dunn, and Craig Tate.
Green directed King Richard: a winning family from a script written by Zach Baylin. The producers were Tim White and Trevor White with Star Thrower Entertainment, and Will Smith with Westbrook. Isha Price, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, Adam Merims, Lynn Harris, Allan Mandelbaum, Jon Mone and Peter Dodd served as executive producers.
