Huge fright, Saturday September 4, 2021, in Saint-Lô! There were a few minutes remaining between the home team and theASPTT Caen, in the U18 regional championship, when Diego Ferchaud lost consciousness. The 16-year-old Caennais suffered a heart attack. Supported by firefighters, he was transported to Saint-Lô hospital. Wolf Parkinson White syndrome was diagnosed via an EKG machine.

Evacuated to the Caen University Hospital, Diego is “under close surveillance and forced to complete rest, before a likely upcoming surgery”, writes the ASPTT Caen on his Facebook account.

On Facebook, messages of support poured in from all quarters. Many Norman clubs have presented their wishes for good recovery. Sport in Caen is joining forces, hoping to see the promising midfielder on the pitch very quickly in great shape.
