Mohamed Abu Trika, the star of Al-Ahly and the retired Egyptian national team, refused to talk about the African Champions League final match between Al-Ahly and Moroccan Wydad.
The match is scheduled to take place tomorrow evening, Monday, at the Mohammed V complex, the stronghold of Wydad, according to the decision of the Confederation of African Football.

Aboutrika said in televised statements on the “BN Sports” satellite channel: “Silence is better, I do not like participating in a farce, and the African Union did a farce.”
He added, “I said my opinion (meaning to withdraw) and arrived at the club and the board of directors took another decision that is respected, and we will support the team to win the championship, but it does not give legitimacy to a farce, and unfortunately Al-Ahly is being led to it.”
He continued: “The matter is not specific to Morocco or Wydad, the issue is related to Al-Ahly and the African Union, I would like Al-Ahly to be strong and distinguished, an institution that changes the error, it is not a condition that it withdraw.”
He continued, “Al-Ahly did it before that, at the time of Saleh Selim and boycotted the African competitions, and after that the format of these competitions changed. Of course, we lost titles, but the competition won.”
And he added, “I hope the players will be focused and play a match worthy of both teams.”
