As the Bild newspaper reports, defender Christoph Zimmermann is to come from Norwich City and could play an important role right away.
DARMSTADT – Everything is waiting for a new striker, now there will probably be a new central defender for the second division soccer team SV Darmstadt 98. This is reported by the Bild newspaper. The lilies are said to have committed Christoph Zimmermann (29) from Norwich City. A 1.94 meter giant who could immediately strengthen the defense of southern Hesse.
The club has yet to confirm, but should the deal be finalized before the first home game of the season against SV Sandhausen on Friday at 6:30 p.m., Zimmermann could play an important role. After the absences of Patric Pfeiffer (yellow-red suspension) and Thomas Isherwood (torn muscle bundle in the right thigh), only Jannik Müller and Clemens Riedel are available for the central role in defence.
Zimmermann was trained at Borussia Mönchengladbach, played for Borussia Dortmund II in the regional league from 2014 to 2017 and then gained Premier League experience with Norwich City.
