Dhaka: Pakistan (BAN v PAK) swept the three-match series after winning the last match of the T20 series against Bangladesh, but fans are now praising the sportsman spirit of Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah. Pakistan’s victory was a battle that lasted till the last ball of excitement.

With eight wickets in hand in the last over, Pakistan needed eight runs to win. Sarfaraz Ahmed was unable to score on the first ball bowled by Captain Mohammedullah. The next ball was caught by Naeem and Sarfraz was out.

Haider Ali was caught by Shanrock in the third ball. Iftikhar Ahmed smashed a six off Mohammadullah’s fourth ball to give Pakistan the lead. But Iftikhar was out in the fifth ball. With this, Pakistan needed two runs off the last ball to win. Mohammad Nawaz, who faced the last ball, was bowled by Mohammad Nawaz in the last second after dropping the ball.

But without stopping to appeal or celebrate the victory, Mohammedullah had a brief discussion with the umpires and the players and walked back to bowl the last ball. Nawaz bowled the ball and the umpire called a dead ball and Mohammedullah hit the last ball of the innings and Nawaz led Pakistan to victory.

Speaking to the umpire, Mohamedullah said after the match that the batter had changed at the last minute so he was told it could be called a dead ball and he obeyed without any objection. “The defeat was unfortunate, but it all seems to be part of the game,” Mohammedullah said.

But when asked why he pulled back at the last minute, Nawaz said he was looking down when Mohammedullah dropped the ball and that was why he stood back at the last second.
