The Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district office praises the DRK district associations in Freiburg and Mllheim, which have been committed to immunizing the population.
The vaccination center in Mllheim will be open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and again next Friday. Then the vaccination center closes after almost exactly a year of operation, informs the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district office.
There were four vaccination centers and three mobile vaccination teams in the district
Since November 2021, the district has offered corona vaccinations at four district vaccination centers and with three mobile teams. Appointments in Mllheim, Breisach, Titisee-Neustadt and Bad Krozingen were offered in cooperation with the DRK district associations in Mllheim and Freiburg, the family doctor team in Bad Krozingen and the vaccination center at the University Hospital in Freiburg.
In December 2021 and January 2022 alone, more than 32,000 vaccination doses were administered, according to the district office, there have been a total of 43,000 vaccinations to date. The mobile teams administered around 6,100 doses both in halls and in old people’s and nursing homes in the district.
In order to be able to react flexibly, a vaccination team continues to work even after the onslaught
Even after the decline in demand for initial and booster vaccinations against Corona, a mobile vaccination team was left at the Mllheim site in order to be able to make an offer to vulnerable groups and to be able to react flexibly to changes in the course of the pandemic.
The DRK Kreisverband Mllheim has provided a comprehensive range of vaccinations with 50 employees. “The team has faced the constantly new challenges with a lot of commitment and flexibility,” writes the district office. “Together, all citizens willing to be vaccinated and the helpers of the mobile vaccination units in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district have made a significant contribution to combating the pandemic,” said Oliver Kappert, head of the health department.
