Fans of real-time strategy games have a date that they must mark in red on their calendar: the release day of “Age of Empires 4”, the long-awaited sequel to the historically inspired strategy games, on October 28, 2021. In the run-up to this, Microsoft made it possible for fans to try out the game for a weekend as part of a so-called “Technical Stress Test”. The main aim of this is to sound out the resilience of the servers in the popular multiplayer battles. Since there were also no confidentiality clauses, numerous gamers published their game sales on the web. And the STANDARD also sniffed the new part for almost an hour to test the gameplay and compare it with its predecessors.
