AGO Asked to Check BPDPKS Regarding CPO Export Cases

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Hundreds of youths calling themselves the Anti-Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism Society Front (Basmi KKN) expressed their aspirations in front of the Attorney General’s Office Building, Jl Sisingamaraja, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 afternoon.

The anti-corruption mob encouraged the Adhyaksa Corps to resolve the CPO case, including by examining the BPDPKS (Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency).

“The performance of the Attorney General’s Office has been extraordinary in finding and arresting the mafia or cooking oil cartel. To maximize the performance of the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office in resolving CPO cases, we encourage BPDPKS to be investigated,” said the Coordinator of the KKN Basmi Action, Faizul Hidayat.

Faizul emphasized, CPO or Crude Palm Oil is the raw material for cooking oil, cooking oil itself is a staple for the people so that crimes related to this automatically injure many Indonesian people. Not surprisingly, the issue of cooking oil has also attracted the attention of President Jokowi, who said on May 19, “Institutionally, the government will also revamp procedures and regulations at the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency.”

Faizul also said that the scarcity and high cost of cooking oil was a systemic impact of the management of BPDPKS funds which were “under the control of the palm oil conglomerate” and the BPDPKS steering board.

“There are 137 trillion rupiahs of palm oil funds in BPDPKS, 80 percent of which is used for biodiesel subsidies, several trillion for cooking oil price subsidies,” he said.
