Alderley Edge crash: Man and child die - injuring nine people in car and minibus

North West Ambulance Service said two victims died on the scene after the crash at 12.04 on the A34, Melrose Way, Alderley Edge.

Another man was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary and another child was taken to Manchester Children's Hospital.

In a statement, Cheshire police said, "Police investigating a heavy collision in Alderley Edge are calling for witnesses.

"At 4:04 pm on November 4, emergency services were called to make a serious collision on the A34 Melrose Way in Alderley Edge.

"The collision was a car and a minibus, and a number of victims were treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.

"The road was blocked between the Alderley Park roundabout and the Alderley Edge roundabout while the ambulance service was working locally."

Firefighters were also called into the scene.

The Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said in a statement, "The firefighters were called to a heavy collision on the Melrose Way, A34, Alderley Edge. The collision involved a minibus and a car. The crews supported the emergency service on site and challenged the victims. "
