According to Blu Radio, the departmental administration indicated that it will strengthen the programs to prevent new cases from being repeated.
The Government expressed its concern about the death of the three children who are under five years of age due to causes associated with malnutrition.
During the Government’s accountability, President Luis Fernando Suárez expressed his concern and alerted all entities to the increase in the deaths of children due to malnutrition.
“Three deaths of children under five years of age from malnutrition this year. The goal with Maná, the school feeding programs, is that with all the attention to our early childhood we have to get to zeroSuarez said.
For his part, Pedro Hoyos, Secretary of Social Inclusion and Family of Antioquia, indicated that he will look for children with malnutrition problems.
“In order to quickly detect the cases of children, pregnant mothers and older adults with malnutrition problems and prevent the worst consequence of hunger, which is death, from occurring, we are going to work strongly articulated with each of the managements”Hoyos assured.
According to the same medium, data from the latest National Survey of Nutritional Situation in Colombia, seven out of every 100 school-age children and one in 10 adolescents suffer from chronic malnutrition.
