Mario Salas signed a few weeks ago in the Wadi Degla of the Egyptian Premier League with the aim of claiming a revenge for the terrible 2020 that he lived with Lima Alliance. The Chilean coach came to African football with enthusiasm to the top, but things are not working out so far. In fact, his team still does not lift its head and is increasingly committed to relegation.
Last Saturday, Wadi Degla fell 3-1 to Misr Elmaqasah and does not leave the bottom of the standings. The goals were converted by Shimelis Bekele in the 23 ′, Paulin Voavy in the 86 ′, immediately Basem Morsi in the 87 ′ would put the momentary 3-0. The goal for Salas’ team was scored by Salah Amin.
This result has also left the former Colo Colo coach in last place in the Premier League Egypt with only seven points out of 36 possible, remaining in the direct relegation zone. Salas was able to celebrate in the Egyptian Cup: on February 11 he defeated National Bank 3-1.
The passage of Salas through the football of Peru
Mario Salas came to Lima Alliance in June 2020 with the hope of leading the team to fight in League 1; however, the poor results led him to the difficult task of saving the descent. His departure took place in November through the false door, leaving a bad impression on the blue and white team.
Since then, the Chilean was without a team. This would be Salas’ third experience outside of Chile after directing Alianza Lima and Sporting Cristal, the club with which he raised the trophy of the Peruvian tournament in 2018.
