Almloos favorite pub of Heracles supporters hit by blazing fire: owner in disbelief | Almelo

Update | VideoALMELO – Café and billiards center BCA on the Adastraat in Almelo, a favorite pub of Heracles supporters, was completely burned out last night. Thursday morning, just before half past six, the fire master was signaled. The cafe was not open the night before the fire.

In total reports, owner Ben Schollink and his partner saw what had caused the fire on Thursday morning. They did not arrive at the burned-out building until around eight o’clock, because they could not be reached earlier. The family could do nothing but look inside in disbelief.

The damage was enormous. The roof and interior of the cafe have been completely destroyed. The walls are still standing and the construction is still in order, according to the fire service. Parasols next to the cafe were spared thanks to the wind direction, but that’s about it.

After the fire alarm, the fire brigade arrived at Adastraat about a quarter past three in the morning. It was soon scaled up to major fire. The fire released a lot of smoke, which blown over the entire city center and was even visible as far as the Van Rechteren Limpursingel. Three fire-fighting vehicles and a car ladder were deployed to fight the fire, as well as a drone to assess the situation from above.

According to the officer of the fire service, an attempt was initially made to extinguish the cafe from the inside, but the fire spread so quickly that firefighters were forced to continue their work from outside. The cause of the fire is still unclear. Research is still being done.
