An outbreak of covid affects 45 prisoners in the Zuera prison

A coronavirus outbreak currently affects a total of 45 inmates interned in the Zuera penitentiary, in the province of Zaragoza.

All positives belong to the same module and are asymptomatic, sources from Penitentiary Institutions have reported, adding that the first cases of coronavirus were detected last week.

Apparently, the outbreak began with three affected, expanded to 16 and currently affects 45. The cited sources pointed out that the module to which they belong is confined, so that inmates cannot go out to their daily activities.

At the end of May, he was immunized with doses of the Janssen to the inmates of the prisons of Zuera, Teruel and Daroca. Although it was originally a single-dose vaccine, finally it has been decided to inoculate with a booster dose to those who received it, which also include homeless and seasonal workers, and Aragon will launch next month a second dose for the 58,945 people immunized with this vaccine.

This Saturday, Public Health notified 111 infections by covid-19 in Aragon corresponding to the tests confirmed this Friday. They are 60 more than a day before, on the first day in this month of October that surpasses the barrier of one hundred cases. One more day no deaths have been reported and Aragon has more than two weeks without registering deaths from the coronavirus.

According to official data published this Saturday in the Transparency Portal of the Government of Aragon, 66 infections have been reported in the province of Zaragoza, 33 in that of Huesca and 6 in that of Teruel.

Aínsa led the new infections with 12 cases, followed by Degrees with 9, a university with 7 and Fraga with 6. By health sector, 58 cases have been reported in the three of Zaragoza, 28 in Barbastro, 7 in Huesca, 5 in Calatayud, 3 in Alcañiz and 1 in Teruel.
