For the last two matches of the 1/8th finals of the Women’s French Cup, Angers finished very strong at Lattes while ASVEL Women relied on Marine Johannès to overtake La Roche Vendée in the final.

After the qualifications of Monaco and Tarbes on Wednesday and that of Illkirch Graffenstaden earlier in November, Angers and ASVEL Féminin qualified for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France in the large widths this Thursday. UFAB 49 won by 19 points at Lattes (58-77) while there was a tie at the start of the last quarter (53 everywhere).

Marine Johannes scores ASVEL’s last 15 points!

For ASVEL, the margin was much smaller at La Roche-sur-Yon (73-76). Led by 7 points (66-59) 8 minutes from the end, David Gautier’s team was able to count on their defense and a Marine Johannès on fire to gain the upper hand. The Norman, little successful so far (22 points to 8/21 on penalties in the end), passed 11 points in a row to the Yonnaise defense to go from 66-61 to 66-72. And if La Roche found his way to the basket, it was the back who scored the next 4 points for his team to finish the job. What to eclipse the return of Sandrine Gruda (8 points at 4/11 and 7 rebounds for 11 evaluation in 24 minutes).

In the quarter-finals, SIG, Monaco, Tarbes, ASVEL Women and Angers will meet Basket Landes, Bourges and Villeneuve d’Ascq.
