DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan attended the 2022 Easter Torch tour at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) today. This event is held in conjunction with the celebration of the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ.
“Today afternoon the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) will host as well as a venue for the 2022 Easter Torch tour and the celebration of the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ which is being held by the National Easter Institute and this is the first time it has been held at JIS,” said Anies Baswedan in his statement, Friday (27/5/2022).
Anies said that the 2022 Easter Torch visit and the celebration of the Ascension of Jesus Christ at JIS marked Jakarta as a home, especially for all religious people.
“On behalf of the DKI Provincial Government, we congratulate and send a message to all that Jakarta is a home for all, a protector for all, and facilitates equally for all,” he said.
The former Minister of Education and Culture views that this Easter momentum can create a feeling of security and peace. That way, this warning can remind the message of peace between fellow humans.
“We hope that this warning will remind all of us to continue to send to ourselves messages of calm, serenity, peace, which if each of us deepens it, then we will interact with each other with feelings of shade, tranquility which results in a safe and peaceful society. ” he said.
Finally, Anies expressed his appreciation to all parties who contributed to the success of the 2022 Easter Torch visit and the commemoration of the Ascension of Jesus Christ at JIS. He hopes that Jakarta can be a cool host for all parties.
“This is a national Easter commemoration of the 18th Torch Tour. Therefore, we especially give appreciation to the Chairperson of the National Easter Torch, Reverend Doctor Shepard Supit, who has overseen this activity for 18 years. And we also appreciate the Chairperson of the Easter Torch Tour. Mrs. Maya Rumantir, who has ensured the activities run smoothly. Hopefully Jakarta will continue to be a peaceful, calm and cool home for all, “he concluded.
