Anies’s Sweet Promise to Build a Happy Gembrong Village, Facing the River to the Colorful Roof Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has begun to revitalize the settlements for the victims of the Pasar Gembrong fire, RW 001 Cipinang Besar Utara, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan targets the revitalization to be completed in September 2022. At least 136 units will be built and will cost Rp 7.8 billion.

The inauguration was marked by laying the first stone at the site. It is planned that the settlement will be named ‘Kampung Gembira Gembrong’.

“This morning we laid the first stone for the construction of the Gembrong village, and the plan is to name it Gembira Gembrong Village,” Anies said, Friday (1/7/2022).

The government will also build a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) there.

Not only facing the Cipinang River, the Deputy Chairperson of Baznas Bazis IV, Nasir Tajang, said that the five meters distance between the banks of the Cipinang River and the building would be made up of a jogging track.

Nasir also revealed the reason for the colorful concept of Kampung Gembira Gembrong. With that concept, said Nasir, it is hoped that the people will be happy and happy.

Don’t Violate the Spatial

City planning observer from Trisakti University, Nirwono Yoga, reminded the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to first ensure the legality of the allotment zone for the Gembir Gembrong Village area.

According to Nirwono, the development and designation of the Gembira Village area must be in accordance with the 2030 DKI Jakarta Spatial Detail Plan (RDTR).

For example, said Nirwono, the area must be ascertained whether it is suitable for residential or residential purposes only, residential designation with commercial (mixed), or must be a green zone.

“If the designation is for the green zone, then there should be no buildings at all. If the designation is for residential purposes only, then there are no commercial buildings or markets,” said Nirwono to Kompas.com.

However, Nirwono continued, if Gembira Village is a mixed area, then vertical housing, flats, or flats can be built with a market on the ground floor.

“No matter how good the concept that will be built, if it is not in accordance with its designation, there will be spatial violations,” said Nirwono.

The Gembrong Market fire occurred on Sunday (24/4/2022) night until Monday (25/4/2022) in the morning.

At least 400 buildings were burned in the incident. The burned area reached 1,200 square meters.
