The Duchess of York paid tribute to Andrew, with whom she had been married for ten years. He insisted, "my duty is to him".
Sarah – also known as Fergie – described Andrew's royal wedding in 1986 as the "happiest day" of her life in an interview with The Daily Mail.
When asked if the couple would marry again, the Duchess did not rule out the possibility.
Sarah said, "So many people have asked me, but we are so happy with the way we are.
"We enjoy each other's company. we allow ourselves to bloom. I know, it sounds like a fairy tale, but that's the way we are now. "
Andrew and Sarah had a close relationship despite their divorce in 1996, and the two even shared their residence at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
At their youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank last month, they had a united front.
Sarah described her relationship with Andrew as "our fairytale."
The Duchess said: "July 23, 1986 was the happiest day of my life. Andrew is the best man I know. What he does for the UK is incredible. Nobody knows how hard he works for his country.
"My duty is with him. I'm so proud of him. I stand by him and will always do it. Just as we are, is our fairy tale. "
The Duchess added:We are the happiest divorced couple in the world. We are separated from each other, not from each other. "
Sarah and Andrew split in 1992, months before the unknown A photo of the Duchess showed how her toes were kissed and sucked by John Bryan during a holiday in France.
