Anthony Jung can compete

Shortly before SV Werder Bremen’s first competitive game of the season, Anthony Jung is apparently ready to accept the competition on the left flank. Where he had a regular place in the promotion season. The recently injured professional can now fully train again.

Muscular problems in the thigh occupied Jung for around three weeks and cost him the friendlies against Enschede and Groningen/Emmen. At the Bremen training session on Wednesday he was there for the full hour and a half without any apparent problems.

It could work with the first round in the DFB Cup at the weekend. “We have hope that Tony will be available,” said Werder coach Ole Werner. But: “For how long, I can’t predict yet. That depends on how he does in training.”

Young has to be quick. During his absence, new signing Lee Buchanan has accumulated points.
