Apex Legends now also playable on smartphone

Earlier we shared some posts about a future mobile version of Apex Legends. On May 17, the time had finally come. The smartphone version of Apex Legends is now available for free download on Android and iOS.

Apex Legends Mobile closely resembles its console and PC predecessor. Where the PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch versions are identical to each other. Apex Legends Mobile is something different than you might be used to, but it still looks very similar. The differences are small, but may provide a more appropriate game for the smartphone.

Fade is an addition to the Apex Legends roster that you haven’t seen on PC and console yet. The Legend is exclusively playable in the mobile version of the game. The game modes Team Deathmatch, which takes place in secluded parts of the large Battle Royale map, is also playable exclusively in the mobile version. As well as the ability to play in First- and Third-Person mode.

Furthermore, the mobile version offers a Battle Pass system that refreshes itself every month, in contrast to the longer cycle that we are used to from the Battle Royale on PC and console. Each Legend also has its own level system. Something we haven’t seen in the PC and console variant either.

The Mobile Battle Royale is being (further) developed by Lightspeed & Quantum Studios together with Respawn Entertainment. Where there are still many similarities at the moment, the mobile variant will develop its own identity. Updates that are added to the mobile game are separate from the developments that take place in the PC and console variant.
