Apple admits a "security risk" in the batteries of some MacBook Pro

ManzanaThursday announced the voluntary withdrawal of a limited number of units from15-inch MacBook Pro from previous generations whose batteries can overheatand supposea security risk.

These potentially affected units were sold mainly between September 2015 and February 2017 with a battery that is at risk of overheating. The withdrawal, however,does not affect the other units of the 15-inch MacBook Pronor to other Mac laptops.

Customers can visit the Apple Help page to learn more about the affected products andHow to change the battery without any cost.

To confirm what your model is, the customer must choose About this Mac from the Apple menu in the upper left corner of the screen.If you see 'MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inches, mid-2015)', you must type the serial number of your computer on the Help page to see if it is valid to make the battery change.
