The new Air offers long-awaited updates like a Retina display, Touch-ID and faster components.

It starts at $ 1,199 and is now available for sale. Orders will be shipped next week.

The event started with the Mac when Cook announced that Apple has now reached a milestone of 100 million devices worldwide.

And no one is more popular than the MacBook Air – the "most popular MacBook ever".

"It has changed the industry and redefined the modern notebook," he said. "It's time for a new MacBook Air."

With this, Apple took off the brand new Air, which features a 13.3-inch display and removed the laptop's familiar aluminum bezel, resulting in 50 percent narrower edges.

Now there is silver, space gray and gold.

The update that received the most buzz was the addition of a Retina display – according to Apple, the most requested feature of consumers.

With the Retina display, Apple has quadrupled the number of pixels on the screen to more than 4 million pixels, resulting in a resolution four times that of its predecessors.

"Every part of the product has been redesigned and redesigned. It's absolutely beautiful, "said Laura Lagrove of Apple.

"… text and images are sharper and more detailed – with 48 percent more color, these images are more realistic than ever."

The new Air also has the Touch ID, which is located in the right corner of the keyboard. Users can then unlock their device seamlessly with their finger.

The Touch ID also houses its own T2 security chip.

WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT APPLE'S NEW MACBOOK AIR?

Apple revived the MacBook Air by announcing the laptop's first new model in three years.

The announcement took place on October 30, 2018 at a hardware launch event in New York.

Last year some minor changes have been made to the graphics card and processor of the laptop. However, the model has remained largely unchanged since the launch of the first 12-inch Macbook Air in 2015.

The new features of the 2018 model include a Retina display, thin bezels – similar to other MacBooks – on its 13.3-inch screen with four million pixels, and other upgraded internal specifications.

These include an Intel dual-core 8th generation CPU with integrated graphics, up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1.5 TB solid state hard drive.

There will also be a FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID, two USB-C ports, two Thunderbolt 3 ports and a headphone jack.

The battery life is enough to play 13 hours of iTunes movie.

The device itself will be 17 percent smaller than the replaced model and 10 percent thinner – at only 15.6 mm.

It will weigh 2.75 pounds, 0.25 pounds lighter than the previous MacBook Air.

For privacy-conscious users, Apple states that the chip acts as a safe enclave for its data, protecting Touch ID information and ensuring that software running during startup is protected.

The keyboard has been updated to Apple's latest butterfly model and has a Force Touch trackpad 20 percent larger than the previous Air.

Inside, Apple has equipped the Air with Intel's latest 8th-generation dual-core Intel CPU, which offers up to 1.5TB of storage and up to 16GB of RAM.

The Air has up to 16GB of faster storage, twice the capacity of the previous Air. Two USB-C ports are on the air and the speakers are 25 percent louder

It also offers 24/7 battery life – 12 hours of wireless Internet surfing and up to 13 hours of iTunes movie playback – a new measure from Apple.

The Air's ultra-light design is 17 percent smaller than the outgoing MacBook Air model.

This means that the Air weighs only 2.75 kg.

Despite the edge-to-edge screen, Apple has managed to attach a webcam to the top of the display to enable features like the new Group FaceTime tool in macOS Mojave.
